Alpha Centaurians

The lore's most ordinary-looking visitors: human-passing neighbors from the nearest star system, best known through the Valiant Thor legend.

Reference note. This guide explains the basics of well-known UFO and UAP cases, people, and claims: what happened, who was involved, and what supporters and skeptics say. Milky Way News takes no position. Further investigation, skepticism, or belief is up to you.

01The Archetype

Alpha Centaurians are described as human-passing, medium height, olive-skinned, and distinguishable only by an unusual serenity. Their role follows from their address: at 4.37 light years, Alpha Centauri is the nearest star system, so the lore casts them as Earth's patient, frequent, undramatic observers, technologically ancient and temperamentally quiet.

02Origins in Lore

The best-known thread runs through Frank Stranges's Stranger at the Pentagon (1967), which described a 1959 meeting with a visitor named Valiant Thor said to have lived as a Pentagon guest for three years. Stranges placed Thor's origin at Venus, but later contactee taxonomies re-attributed him to Alpha Centauri as Venus became uninhabitable in fact. Costa Rican contactee Enrique Castillo Rincón described 1970s encounters with self-identified Alpha Centaurians (a rare Latin American thread), and the archetype recurs in Sheldan Nidle's and Elena Danaan's channeled catalogs.

03Claimed Encounters

The Stranges and Castillo Rincón accounts are the substantive corpus; both rest entirely on their authors' testimony.

04Cultural Footprint

Val Thor became a durable internet legend, and Alpha Centauri's real-world prominence (the destination of the Breakthrough Starshot concept, and host of the confirmed planet Proxima b) keeps the neighbor-civilization idea culturally alive well beyond ufology.

05The Skeptical View

Skeptics note the tradition is testimony without a single corroborating artifact, that the Venus-to-Centauri address change is the lore's standard unfalsifiable retreat, and that no Pentagon record or witness has ever supported the Thor story. Astronomy keeps the system interesting; the visitors remain unevidenced.
