Essassani

The Essassani are presented not as strangers but as descendants: a hybrid people about five feet tall, slight, large-eyed, with features often described as Eurasian, grown from human and Grey genetics into a civilization that has moved past fear as an organizing principle. They are calm, telepathic, and relentlessly positive. Their world, "Essassani" ("place of living light"), is said to lie about 500 light years toward Orion, slightly out of phase with our reality.

The tradition is one man's project: since 1983, Hollywood special-effects artist Darryl Anka (whose credits include mainstream films) has said he channels an Essassani he calls Bashar, producing one of the most durable channeling corpora in the field: decades of recorded sessions, events, and books teaching a philosophy of belief-driven reality creation, summarized in formulas like "follow your highest excitement."

Anka attributes his start to two daylight sightings in 1973; all Essassani material since arrives through his trance sessions. No independent contact tradition exists.

Bashar is a fixture of New Age media with a large international following (notably in Japan), and the Essassani give the abduction era's hybrid program a utopian endpoint: what the breeding is supposedly for.

Skeptics observe a single-performer tradition whose content tracks its era's self-help currents, and note that channeling requires no explanation beyond human creativity, which Anka, a professional imaginist, possesses demonstrably. The philosophy's unfalsifiability is complete by design. Followers value the material's effects on their lives, a claim about usefulness rather than astronomy. There is no evidence the Essassani exist outside the sessions.
