Americans for Safe Aerospace

Americans for Safe Aerospace (ASA) is a nonprofit founded in 2023 by former Navy F/A-18 pilot Ryan Graves to support aircrew who encounter UAP, advocate for reporting reform, and frame the issue as flight safety and airspace security rather than belief.

Graves launched ASA after his congressional testimony, judging that commercial and military pilots lacked any stigma-free channel: airline culture punished reporting, and AARO accepted only government-channel submissions.

ASA operates a confidential intake for pilot reports (Graves has cited hundreds received, with commercial-aviation cases including the 2022-era Pacific Northwest racetrack-light events among the notable clusters), connects witnesses with journalists, researchers, and congressional staff, advocates for legislative protections (its fingerprints are on aircrew-reporting provisions in NDAA cycles), and produces safety-framed public education, including Graves's testimony tours and media work. It partners informally across the ecosystem, from academic groups to data platforms.
