Jeffrey Nuccetelli

Jeffrey Nuccetelli is a United States Air Force veteran who served 16 years as a military police officer. He is the main public witness for a cluster of reported UAP incidents at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California in the early 2000s. On September 9, 2025, he testified about them before the House Oversight Committee's Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets.

Nuccetelli served in Air Force security forces at Vandenberg, the California base that conducts space launches, including missions for the National Reconnaissance Office. His duties put him on the response and investigation side of base security incidents. The incidents he describes occurred between 2003 and 2005.

Nuccetelli's Vandenberg account circulated in UAP podcasts and media before reaching Congress, and Representative Anna Paulina Luna has referenced the case publicly. His 2025 testimony made him one of the central witnesses of the third congressional UAP hearing of the modern era, alongside fellow Air Force veteran Dylan Borland and Navy Senior Chief Alexandro Wiggins.

Nuccetelli testified that on October 14, 2003, Boeing contractors at Vandenberg reported a massive glowing red square hovering silently over two missile defense sites. Later that night, he says, five security guards reported a rectangular craft larger than a football field that hovered for about 45 seconds and then left at high speed. He responded to the radio reports but has said plainly that he did not see those objects himself. About a week later, he says, a strange light over the ocean approached the base and an armed response was launched. He also described a 2005 patrol report of a large triangular craft, bigger than a C-130, hovering low.

He testified that each incident was witnessed by multiple personnel, documented, investigated, and reported up the chain of command, and that records exist with AARO and the FBI. He described one personal sighting, off duty, of an object that first looked like a satellite, maneuvered erratically, and finally appeared as a glowing blue-white orb. He asked Congress to fund independent research and to end what he called overclassification of UAP records.

Nuccetelli distinguishes plainly between the incidents he investigated and the sighting he personally witnessed. Records from the 2003 reports have not been released publicly, and the Air Force has not publicly confirmed the events; he has asked Congress to declassify the records he says exist with AARO and the FBI.

Nuccetelli continues to speak publicly about the Vandenberg reports and to advocate for declassification and witness protections.
